Six different flags have flown over the enormous state of Texas, and visitors find various ecological regions, a range of climates and a potpourri of flora and fauna. Texas shares a vast border with Mexico, as well as miles of splendid Gulf of Mexico coastline. With a population besting 25 million, two-thirds living in major metro areas, visitors enjoy a wide and wonderful destination providing a plethora of excellent Texas hotels at affordable prices!

Houston, with its southeast location, is one of the most important ports in the U.S., connected to the Gulf of Mexico by a 50 mile long channel. You can enjoy touring the NASA Space Center, established in 1958, and the Battleship Texas, docked at Historic Site, San Jacinto State Park. Over 20 well-known colleges are located here, and the city boasts 3 professional sports teams. Galveston Island State Park offers hiking, swimming, biking, birding, fishing and camping, and excellent beaches; Corpus Christi is also another resort destination, with Padre Island National Seashore and Mustang Island State Park attracting nature lovers year-round.

The Dallas-Ft. Worth metro area is located more center-state; its airport DFW is one of the busiest in the world! Iconic attractions include John F. Kennedy Memorial Plaza, Dallas Cowboys football games, and outstanding shopping at Neiman-Marcus, NorthPark Center and The Galleria. About 200 miles west of Houston is San Antonio, one of Texas’ most popular destinations. Much history can be found in this area, along with beautiful Texas Hill Country, major sports action, Schlitterbahn Water Park and, of course, the marvelous River Walk with ample restaurants, hotels and shops.

Less than a two hour drive west of San Antonio, hundreds of thousands access Garner State Park every year. Plan to swim or tube the Frio River and travel backcountry roads to be awestruck by high mesas, deep canyons and carved limestone cliffs. View a reconstructed mission and explore other historic sites dating back to the 1700’s at Goliad State Historical Park, a couple hours southeast of San Antonio.

Capital city, Austin, is known as the Live Music Capital of the world and is 80 miles northeast of San Antonio. You can tour the Capitol, check out the University of Texas and enjoy a music festival, all in this phenomenal city!
