Major attractions include the Statue of Liberty, the Empire State Building, Times Square and Central Park. Visiting Ellis Island and the Statue of Liberty National Monuments will give you a real feel for the history of the area and how immigrants have been welcomed for years. Swimming and fishing are kings at Jones Beach State Park on Long Island, with two miles of boardwalk and a superb Nature Center. At the very east end of Long Island you can enjoy the Hamptons (if you can afford it!), a beautiful resort area popular in the summertime. Every major sport is represented, Broadway plays are plentiful, world-renowned restaurants and department stores are at your fingertips – 45 million visitors a year consider New York City a “must-do”!

Another hour west brings you to Buffalo, 2nd most populous city in the state and right on Lake Erie.  To its north is Niagara Falls State Park where you will be astounded by the natural wonder of the Falls and the River Gorge.
