Fernley, Nevada, is a growing city located in Lyon County. This town has been rapidly growing over the past few decades and does not seem to be letting up. It is located about thirty miles outside of Reno, and residents appreciate the perks of a larger city while enjoying the peace of living in a smaller one. The town was established in 1904 and grew as primarily a ranching and agricultural community. If you are a history lover, then you should swing by the home of the Fernley Chamber of Commerce. The building was Fernley’s first schoolhouse and is still in excellent shape.
