Indianapolis IN Hotels

Surely you have heard of the Bridges of Madison County, but have you heard of the Bridges of Parke County, Indiana? This county proclaims itself as The Covered Bridge Capital, offering visitors 31 covered bridges along a scenic back road tour through Amish Country. This tour makes a great side trip when visiting the State capital Indianapolis, located smack dab in the middle of the state and providing every caliber of Indiana hotel. Join throngs of visitors to the famed Indianapolis Motor Speedway for NASCAR racing at its finest; while there, check out The Children’s Museum, rated one of the country’s best and the iconic Monument Circle for that iconic photo.

Fort Wayne, second largest Indiana municipality and home to many major company headquarters, is located a couple hours to the northeast; South Bend, home to renowned University of Notre Dame, is located on the northern border of the state and is just an hour drive to the beaches of Lake Michigan. This lake is popular for salmon and trout fishing, swimming and summer beach fun. At the south border of the state is Hoosier National Forest along the Ohio River which separates Indiana and Kentucky;  Hickory Ridge Lookout Tower offers visitors a panoramic view of the Forest and Lake Monroe.

You can see 390 million year old fossil beds at Falls of the Ohio State Park on the banks of the river at Clarksville, and thousands of years old, 200 foot tall dunes at Indiana Dunes State Park on Lake Michigan. Three miles of National Lakeshore create a wonderful backdrop for its Artists-in-Residence program, and you can climb Mt. Baldy for amazing lake views. Come visit the friendly Hoosier state!
