Majestically set in the heart of the Lake District overlooking Lake Windermere and the Langdale Fells is Holbeck Ghyll an early 19th century house bought in 1888 by Lord Lonsdale as a country retreat and hunting lodge. It has been twice voted the Hotel of the Year by the Cumbria Tourist Board. This traditional English country house hotel of great character and charm is surrounded by woodland and open fields. Six luxury bedrooms have been added to provide the finest lake views and facilities in the district. But of course each bedroom is a delight containing every comfort and amenity. The oak panelled Michelin Star restaurant provides a memorable dining experience. The menu offers a wide selection of classically prepared and artistically presented dishes.
