The 7D Ranch is located in Wyoming near the remote and beautiful Sunlight Basin deep within the Shoshone National Forest. This dude and guest ranch provides a remote mountain location for those whose priorities include riding fly fishing hiking relaxation and wilderness beauty. Visitors catch occasional glimpses of local wildlife including elk deer moose coyotes wolves bears and a wide variety of birds while riding and hiking into the surrounding Absaroka Wilderness.The 7D Ranch began as a family operation. Dr. DeWitt Dominick (Doc) his wife Lee and their five children ran cattle on the property and in the summers opened the ranch as a haven for friends from the East. Three generations later little has changed at the 7D. While much of the Old West is quickly evolving the 7D Ranch holds fast to tradition and offers guests a hearty slice of the West as it once was.The 7D Ranch specializes in family vacations and promises a personalized stay in which your wishes and goals can be accommodated. The ranch offers riding for the entire family and a non-stop activity program for the children. 7D wranglers are pleased to offer group or individual riding instruction half-day and all-day rides. The childrens program is excellent and 7Ds counselors ensure children an experience they will not forget. Guided fly fishing and hiking are also available throughout the week. Ranch accommodations include 10 rustic and comfortable cabins spread throughout the ranch among aspen groves. Daily maid service is provided and laundry facilities are available. Meals are served family style in the Main Lodge dining hall which also offers a cozy lounge with fireplace piano and library. Guests rave about 7Ds western meals which are hearty healthy and delicious. Across the lawn is the Rec Hall full of games and a ping-pong table. It holds line dances childrens activities and guest speaker presentations.
