Commissioned at the end of the 19th century as a luxury hotel for Harrod*s department store the Rembrandt hotel is situated opposite the Victoria and Albert Museum. With the South Kensington tube station within walking distance of the hotel most of London is accessible by public transportation. Less than one mile from the hotel are Victoria and Albert Museum Natural History Museum Harrods Hyde Park and Theatre Land.
