The Inn at Claussens is a stylish 27-room boutique hotel located in the heart of charming Five Points within walking distance of the University of South Carolina and minutes from the citys historic Vista district. The 1928 brick building once housed a busy bakery. Todays guests still find something fresh here in the warm friendly service - beautifully restored architectural features and large individually decorated rooms and suites.Once known as Claussens Bakery - the inn is a landmark in Columbia and listed on the National Register of Historic Places in South Carolina. Architectural elements including many of the original hardwood floors were carefully preserved during the renovation to maintain the buildings history while creating a luxury hotel with modern-day amenities.Like a true bed and breakfast - each spacious room at The Inn at Claussens has its own individual character. With four-poster - iron or brass beds - rich colors and handsome traditional furnishings - no two rooms are exactly alike.
